Well, The Coach got my car out of the driveway and I made it to the Uni without too much trouble once I got out of our neighborhood. A couple of other folks from down the street actually carpooled because they couldn’t get their cars free from the ice. And one of these people is originally from Minnesota, so I feel pretty damn proud of the fact that The Coach and I got our rear wheel drive free.
So far, I have already received emails from two students saying that the roads were too bad to come to class. I could be heartless and say: “If I can get here in Sally, surely you can drag your sorry asses in.” But, I have also been driving for years and years … and I’ve seen some of these young college kids on the road. Honestly, I’d prefer that they stayed off the roads and away from my pretty car. {LOL}
It’s like a ghost town here, so I predict that it will be a quiet day in my office. Here’s to actually getting some work done!
P.S. Tonight might be a different story. I chose my parking spot very carefully this morning because I didn’t want to get stuck when all this shit refreezes. The problem will be my street and my driveway. The Coach is going to have to crack through the ice and dig a path for the car to get back up the slope.
P.S.S. for CQ: I do have some ice pictures, but I haven’t had a chance to upload them.
I’ve got some of our surprise snow storm last night. It was pretty out this morning!
We had a pretty sunset yesterday, with the sun reflecting off the ice covered trees. Right now, however, it’s warmed up enough that the pretty icicles have become projectiles. Ack!
