As you can probably tell from the comments on one of more recent posts, I am not a big fan of ghetto zoos and the zoo here in Sorta’ Cosmopolitan is definitely ghetto. The large cats are in small pens, the buildings are old and smelly, and the mesh on all of the cages is just too damned small. I did, however, manage to get a few good pictures.
If I put this outside my office, do you think the students
will stay away and let me get some research done?
The Coach loves him some prairie dogs …
but there are only 3 at our zoo.
I have to admit, though, the zoo had really nice landscaping.
And they were doing a lot with endangered and vanishing species.
I’m a complete zoo whore. As much as I want to be fundamentally opposed to the caging of majestic animals, it’s the only way I can get close to most of them.
And tell coach that prairie dogs rule!
