Last week, as I was walking to a class, I overhead the following conversation:
- Sorority Girl 1: So, we had rush this week, huh?
- Sorority Girl 2: Yeah. We had lots of pledges.
- Sorority Girl 1: Did you turn any of them down?
- Sorority Girl 2: We sure did.
- Sorority Girl 1: Why? What was your criteria?
- Sorority Girl 2: Well, if they didn’t make an effort to get to know us, we turned them down …
- Sorority Girl 1: Oh …
- Sorority Girl 2: … but really, if we knew the girl and knew she was a slut, we didn’t take her.
It took all of my power not to burst out laughing. Was she serious? As a former sorority girl, I thought that slutty was a prerequisite? Are they just trying to eliminate the competition?
I look back on my college days and realize I should have come out of my shell sooner and pledged the gay frat at my university.
Apparently I’m some sort of God in gay world, if I’m to believe what other gay boys tell me.
I was just too darn shy at the time… pity.
Wow. Just got back from my old college and realized just how far I have come from my sorority girl days. I hope I haven’t aged as bad as some of the folks I ran into!
