The Coach’s team, despite its dismal record*, ended up being the district runner-up. This means that the boys will be playing their first playoff game at home, against a team that they have crushed (okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration) in pre-season scrimmages. It also means that I’m home, alone, again. He’s out, scouting the competition. Now, usually he’d have a game tonight, but the powers-that-be will not let the sports teams travel on Halloween. Yes, because you know, some kind of ghostie might get them. {wink}
So, how will this sports widow spend her Halloween?
I started by going to the grocery store to buy food for the weekend. I got home, set the bowl of cheap candy (smarties) outside, and warmed up my tamales. In the time it took to eat, some little shit took *all* the candy. Yep, I was out of candy by 5:15 p.m., but at least they left the bowl. That means I am hiding upstairs in my bedroom, ignoring the doorbell. I’ll spend the rest of my night doing a Roswell marathon. My life … it’s just so damned exciting.
* 4-5, having lost their fifth game in a row last night.
